Daily Morning Habits to Become SuccessfulHave you ever wondered that the successful people or the dashing entrepreneurs do in the morning and before they come to the office? There must be something common which the successful entrepreneurs and business people do after getting up and before getting into their car to go to the office. It is my business as well as passion to study success and teach the systematic methodology to be successful and develop a vibrant personality. Hence I talked to a few successful entrepreneurs, CEO s and self made rich business persons and found a few common yet very effective habits.

Here are the daily morning habits to become successful or more successful. It is my firm belief that anyone who is desirous of reaching higher levels of success in almost any aspect of life would find these common habits very useful.

1. Wake up early in the morning

Successful people know that time is precious. There is no point is sleeping extra. Just by getting up half an hour early in the morning, you get 7 extra days in a year. Not only that the early morning time is absolutely yours as there are no phone calls, meetings or unwanted visitors.

The early morning one hour is also the “Golden Hour” in more than one way. Our brains are at their best right after we wake up, as they have been cleaned and de-cluttered while we were asleep. Also the body is full of energy and charged after a good night’s sleep. So with the best of body-mind-soul connection it is found to be the most productive hour of the day by the successful people. The earlier you begin the day, the more time you’ll have to get things accomplished.

In a survey of 20 executives by Vanderkam, 90% said they wake up before 6 a.m. on weekdays. PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi,  gets up at 4 a.m. and is in the office no later than 7 a.m. Meanwhile, Disney CEO Bob Iger gets up at 4:30 to read, and Square CEO Jack Dorsey is up at 5:30 to jog.

2. Connect to the Universal Power

You can call this activity it by different names such as Prayer, Worshiping, Listening to devotional music, doing Jaap (repetition of holy mantra or the name of God) or Meditation. It does not matter whether you are religious or not. Nor does it matter that what is your faith. All that is required to be achieved is Alignment with the Source. By tuning in to the Creator of all things you are empowering yourself and invoking the blessings of the higher powers which are infinite, limitless and most powerful. Another benefit of Morning Prayer or the connection is that develops a sense of gratitude in us. Many studies have proven that the attitude of gratitude has many physical, mental, emotional and spiritual benefits. For example, gratitude reduces mental stress, grateful people sleep better, helps improve self esteem and it opens doors to more grace from the higher powers. While Prayers and expression of Gratitude are being recommended here as a morning habit but it is not to suggest that it can’t be practiced during any other time of the day also.

3. Exercise

Exercise - Daily Morning Habits to Become SuccessfulMore than 80 percent of the successful business persons and budding entrepreneurs I know are regular about their physical exercises. Typically the youngsters like to hit the gym or jog or go for some power packed workout, the middle aged and elderly like to go for morning walk, yoga, squash, tennis, badminton or light weight training. Those who are brought up in the east or are influenced by the oriental culture do indulge in breathing exercises such as Pranayama or Tai Chi.

Regular exercise must be a part of the daily regime if you want to be a successful individual. Exercise makes you feel good about yourself, besides keeping the body healthy. They say, “Healthy mind in a healthy body”. Thus exercises in the morning will keep your mind alert and teach you discipline.

No matter how busy a person you are, exercising is important and it will make you a more disciplined person. A good workout habit helps the body to tone up, keep the metabolism rate better, reduce stress and improves sleep.

There should be no doubt in your mind that exercising in the morning will make you more productive throughout the day – thus contributing to make you a more successful person.

4. Listen to something uplifting or Read Inspirational Material

Just like eating a good breakfast which nourishes the body, there has to be a food for mind. You can chose Motivational or Inspirational material either from your religion or faith or any of the New Thought authors. This habit of nourishing your mind will help you spirit go soaring for the day.

If you prefer listening over reading you may go in for audio books, specific YouTube channel, or any specific program on TV. You may also like to read online. Instead of listening to a talk or discourse you may also listen to devotional music to strengthen your faith and calm your mind.

Morning hours are the best time for listening to uplifting songs , peaceful melodies or to a self-help tape or program. Another productive use of this idea is to listen to positive affirmations to attract good things in your life by using Law of Attraction. Just imagine how the effect this will have on you if you do this for about thirty days. This way you will effortlessly condition your mind and connect it with the Supreme Power while waking up in the morning.

Everything you read gets stored in your brain and you never know when it might come in handy. The more knowledge you have, the better-equipped you are to tackle any challenge you’ll ever face.

The motivational books contain the life experiences of successful people who want to share how they conquered their fears, sickness and problems. Through this, we are able to relate with them and we are inspired to do the same.

The habit of reading good material in the morning helps us to aim higher with confidence. It opens up our mind, it helps us look at other peoples’ viewpoints and learn something from their wisdom and experience. Fortunately, we have the liberty to take in whatever we find useful and discard whatever we deem inappropriate. Reading simply opens up a whole endless world before us.

5. Eat a healthy breakfast

Breakfast  - Daily Morning Habits to Become SuccessfulBreakfast is definitely the most important meal of the day. If you start out with a tasty and healthy breakfast to put you in a good mood and with energy to carry you through the day.!

Without breakfast, your body is deprived of energy supply and by lunchtime you are so hungry that you eat whatever unhealthy you can find. With a breakfast of fruits, oats, or eggs, you will really enjoy your day right from the start.

Of course, you should not eat lots of carbs or sugar, as they will tend to slow you down later on.

6. Review your goals and strategies

Morning time is quiet and peaceful. It is the ideal time to review your life’s short term and long term goals along with the strategies to achieve them. Review your progress till date without being interrupted. The beginning of the day ensures that it gets your maximum attention and concentration before others (kids, employees, and bosses) use it all up.

7. Work on top priority assignment / project

With an energised body and active mind you can begin to tackle the most difficult or the top priority assignment or the project.   Try to finish this project while your mind is still fresh, so that it does not loom over you and make you worry for the rest of the day.

Towards the end

Success is not a goal to be achieved by reaching someplace somehow. Being successful is a way of life and a person’s daily routine is a major determinant of his or her success level. What he does day in day out, will decide how much, how fast and how good his achievements would be.

Success is not an accident or a favour which happens to someone. Success is the results of the seeds you sow and nourish the plant in your day to day living. You have to achieve your goals bit by bit in your everyday living.
